The Day/Night Treatment program provides treatment in a less restrictive environment than residential treatment. The Day Treatment component of Gratitude House serves women who are 18 years and older, meet the DSM-IV criteria for substance dependency, and are a resident of Palm Beach County or homeless. The program can accommodate 20 women at a time. The minimum length of stay is three months; averaged length of stay is six months.

Day/Night Treatment is conducted on the Gratitude House premises on Monday-Friday from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00pm to 8:30pm. The treatment day consists of daily lectures, films, group and individual counseling, nd weekly Treatment plan review groups.
The program goal is to improve the woman’s ability to function as a productive member of society.

The program is divided into three distinct phases. The Phase System is designed to provide a structured, supportive, behavioral treatment approach for each client at Gratitude House. The length of time in each Phase is determined by the individual’s rate of progress and achievement on treatment plan goals and objectives.

Research supports that "chemically dependent women differ from chemically dependent men in specific ways”, patterns of drug use, psychosocial characteristics and physiological consequences of drug use. Therefore women’s gender specific programs, addressing women’s gender specific issues, are more successful.

Our overall program goals are to assist women in reducing risk factors associated with the progression of substance abuse problems for themselves and their families; assist them in receiving treatment for their substance abuse/dependence; help them to learn new skills for coping and help them to maintain abstinence to insure a better quality of life; and promote enhancement of their lives through employment and development of skills to maintain self-sufficiency. Our goal is to move women through the stages of treatment without regard to the length of time spent in each stage. Our intention is to help women overcome their addictions, deal with specialty issues, regain their independence, and return to society as sober, self-sufficient, productive women. Our goal is to continue to follow women who have been discharged and help them to remain sober and self sufficient
